ESG creates Value for our Clients; Value to Investors in mitigating risk of long-term investments and Value to Corporates through long term financial performance. It focuses on collecting broad range of ESG data through a variety of company and governmental sources to provide users with an in-depth multi-faceted view into the nature and strength of a companys resistance to changes in ESG components liaise with various critical stakeholders in understanding and building the content set. This data is used by investors asset managers and in S&P Globals various divisions and products. The team is responsible for managing S&P Globals proprietary database comprising one of the worlds most complete datasets on corporate sustainability.

The Impact: As a part of S&Ps ESG team you will develop and maintain accurate complete and timely data sets while taking into account the business divisions global interests and needs internally & externally.

As a Research Specialist you will be a part of Methodology & Scores team within ESG Research group to ensure accuracy and quality throughout the ESG rating process. You will be analyzing and identifying improvement areas with the methodology guidance processes and practices; engaging with the industry experts solicit feedback from appraisal and QC analysts and involved in the development of guidance and methodology for Corporate sustainability Assessment (CSA).

Responsibilities:

  • Collecting and compiling feedback from ESG analysts related to internal guidance/methodology

  • Involvement in development of proposals to align the current CSA methodology with various ESG standards

  • Liaison with various internal stakeholders and support in the development of new processes

  • Conducting periodic trainings for the ESG analysts on updates related to guidance/methodology

  • Engage with ESG analysts to understand the challenges and suggest solutions to ensure highest level of quality

  • Regular communication to the ESG analysts on guidance and methodology updates

  • Provide inputs and ideas for improving the overall CSA guidance/methodology

  • Implementation of updates related to guidance/methodology with highest level of quality

  • Keeps him/herself updated in knowledge of content sets. Build industry knowledge by understanding industry trends and reporting standards

  • Contributing to achieving the overarching ESG methodology development and quality goals and reporting on progress to senior management

  • Perform periodic checks of ESG assessments to identify areas of strength and challenges

  • Acts as a backup to the team leader

What Were Looking For

Basic Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • Academic Qualifications 3/4-year degree or equivalent

  • 2 years of experience in the ESG data ratings and research

  • 1 year of experience in Quality control of ESG data ratings and research

  • 1 year of experience with CSA (Corporate Sustainability Assessment)

  • Excellent communication skill (Written and Verbal) as it involves liaising with multiple stakeholders across regions

  • Advanced Excel skills; comfortable using Excel formulas

  • Qlik/Tableau experience is preferred

  • Strong attention to detail and persistent approach to work

  • Strong quantitative analytical and interpretive skills

  • Agile mindset as it involves a lot of collaboration and coordination.
