Job Summary

Our client is looking for a SHEQ Officer to join their team

Salary & Benefits:

USD 1 302 Gross (Split between USD /ZIG)

Responsibilities:

The purpose of a SHEQ Officer is to ensure a safe healthy environmentally responsible and high quality working environment by managing risks and ensuring legal and ISO compliance. They protect people the environment and the organisation through effective monitoring training and continuous improvement
Ensuring a safe and healthy working environment that complies with current health and safety legislation for all employees
Ensure all employees in area of responsibility fully understand the requirements of existing health and safety legislation
Investigate and report on all work related injuries and vehicle road accidents
Audit relevant sites and prepare the annual SHEQ Assurance Audit
Maintain/Control Contamination standards for area of responsibility
Conduct regular on-site appraisals of premises and housekeeping electrical mechanical and personal safe guards fire protection and security standards
Coordinate with clinics occupational health practitioners or first-aid teams
Implement programmes that minimise exposure to noise chemicals dust heat and other workplace healthy risks
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations
Drive initiatives on waste reduction pollution prevention and resource conservation
Maintain environmental documentation such as registers permits and compliance reports

Key Skills:

Some Computer Literacy (SIS STW & ET) knowledge
Understanding of environmental management (waste emissions spill control)
Ability to conduct risk assessments and job hazard analyses (HIRA JSA etc.)
Strong communication and training skills
Report writing and documentation abilities
Problem solving

Motivating others

Qualifications:

Honours Degree in Safety Health Environment & Quality (SHEQ) or equivalent
Clean class 4 Drivers licence
Minimum of 3 years in the similar position
Experience in engineering manufacturing mining or construction is a strong advantage
ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems
ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems
First Aid Fire Marshal or Hazardous Materials Handling (advantage)
