We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented SHEQ Assistant to support the implementation and maintenance of Safety Health Environment and Quality systems within the organisation. This role is ideally suited to entry-level candidates with OSHEMAC certification or individuals with foundational exposure to SHEQ/HSE environments who are looking to build their career in compliance and risk management. The successful candidate will assist in driving a strong safety culture ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Responsibilities:

Assist in implementing and monitoring SHEQ policies procedures and systems.

Conduct routine site inspections and safety checks identifying and reporting hazards.

Support incident reporting investigations and documentation.
-
Maintain SHEQ records registers and compliance documentation.
-
Assist with risk assessments and safe work procedure development.
-
Support internal audits and compliance reviews.
-
Coordinate and track safety training and inductions.
-
Monitor PPE usage and compliance on site.
-
Ensure adherence to statutory requirements and company standards.
-
Promote awareness of health safety and environmental best practices among staff.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Organised and methodical approach to tasks.

Qualifications:

OSHEMAC certification (preferred).

Certificate or Diploma in Safety Health & Environmental Management or related field.

0 2 years experience in a SHEQ/HSE support role (internship exposure acceptable).

Basic understanding of Zimbabwean safety regulations and compliance standards.
