Job Summary
General Summary of Position:
The Assistant Director of Fitness Programs & Facilities will manage the operations of all Campus Recreation fitness programs facilities activity spaces and student and part-time staff. This includes recruiting hiring training supervising and evaluating upwards of 60 student and part time staff managing two fitness centers and overseeing group fitness personal training and other instructional and specialty fitness programs.
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
- Bachelors degree in Exercise Science Sports and Recreation Management or a closely related field. Can substitute education with nationally recognized certifications in group fitness and/or personal training.
- 3-5 years of experience in fitness programming and management including personal training and/or group fitness.
- Current certification in CPR/AED and First Aid or the ability to obtain from a nationally recognized organization within the first (6) months of employment.
Additional Considerations:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational interpersonal and collaboration skills as well as the ability to multitask and prioritize projects and responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Nationally recognized certification in group fitness and personal training.
- Previous work experience with college students or college-age populations.

This is a full-time benefited SEIU union position in grade P16.Anticipated salary based on range minimum: $th quartile of $67879 and midpoint of $76085.
