The Research Analyst at CAPA Centre for Aviation is dedicated to delivering timely and comprehensive commercial aviation news for our members. In this role you will be responsible for identifying breaking industry news researching and writing concise articles expanding our direct news coverage and contributing content across multiple platformsincluding our website and email alerts.
You will collaborate closely with other team members to ensure CAPAs news coverage remains the industry leader while continuously seeking ways to improve our processes and maintain the highest editorial standards.
Role Accountability and Duties:
Research & News Gathering
- Conduct thorough timesensitive searches for aviation news and updates across a range of sources including press releases social media and news websites.
- Maintain and expand a list of relevant aviation news sources and assess these sources for quality and reliability.
- Maintain and expand a database of official press release websites and other direct news sources.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure all research tasks are completed on schedule.
News Brief Writing
- Write concise accurate news briefs for publication on the CAPA website and distribution in email alerts to CAPA members.
- Meet or exceed KPIs for news output and quality standards.
- Incorporate editorial feedback to uphold CAPAs quality guidelines.
Insight Article Writing
- Following a period of training and gaining industry knowledge you will contribute to the Insight product by identifying key topics researching and writing longerformat articles for publication on the CAPA website and distribution in email alerts to CAPA members.
- Meet or exceed KPIs for Insight article output and quality standards.
- Support the team by contributing to collaborative articles.
CrossTeam Collaboration
- Share relevant news items with other CAPA teams to keep databases and company profiles updated contribute to other publications provide content for social media and support research for events marketing and sales activities.
- Respond to research queries to support the maintenance and development of data products and deepen industry knowledge.
News Coverage at Events
- Following a period of training and gaining industry knowledge you may have the opportunity to attend CAPA Summits and other aviation events at global destinations to provide news brief coverage.
- Support the hosting of CAPA Summits which attract the highest calibre of thought leaders and decision makers in the aviation and travel industry.
- Meet or exceed KPIs for news output and quality standards provide content for social media and support the team onsite as required.
Continuous Improvement
- Offer feedback and suggestions for improving workflows systems and overall product quality.
- Stay informed on aviation trends to maintain a wellrounded perspective for news coverage.
Qualifications :
Education & Experience
- A graduatelevel qualification is advantageousideally in aviation tourism international relations professional writing or a related field.
- Previous experience in the aviation or tourism industries is advantageous.
- Proficiency in languages other than English is advantageous.
Skills & Attributes
- Exceptional written communication and attention to detail.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple deadlines.
- Demonstrated initiative reliability and a cando attitude.
- Strong organisational skills and commitment to meeting KPIs.
- Strong computer and internet research proficiency.
- Genuine interest in aviation and eagerness to stay updated on industry developments.
