Job Title: Finance & Accounting Manager

The Finance & Accounting Manager will serve as the financial custodian of the business unit ensuring strong financial governance operational efficiency and compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory frameworks. The role plays a critical part in safeguarding profitability managing risk exposure and supporting business growth through sound financial planning and analysis.

• Oversee all financial operations ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

• Prepare financial statements and management reports in line with IFRS and internal policies.

• Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements including tax and regulatory obligations.

• Manage general ledger functions journal entries reconciliations and month-end/year-end close processes.

• Supervise accounts payable and receivable functions.

• Manage cash flow forecasting treasury operations and liquidity planning.

• Oversee local and international payment processing including banking instruments such as LCs SBLCs guarantees and credit facilities.

• Ensure effective monitoring of banking relationships and exchange control compliance.

• Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.

• Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable financial insights to management.

• Develop financial models to support business planning and performance tracking.

• Oversee import costing and landed cost analysis to support pricing decisions.

• Validate commercial contracts and support negotiations with suppliers and clients.

• Monitor foreign exchange exposure and implement mitigation strategies.

• Ensure compliance with tax regulations audits (internal and external) and statutory bodies.

• Strengthen internal control systems and ensure adherence to financial policies.

• Identify financial risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.

• Support investment evaluations financial due diligence and partnership assessments.

• Assist in preparing business cases feasibility studies and profitability scenarios.

• Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making and business growth.

• Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Economics or a related field.

• Full or Associate membership with a recognized chartered accounting body (mandatory).

• Professional qualifications such as ACCA CIMA CPA or CFA are strongly preferred.

• A Masters degree in Finance or Business Administration will be an added advantage.

• 5 10 years of relevant experience in finance accounting or financial management roles.

• Experience in agribusiness manufacturing import/export or distribution environments is highly desirable.

• Proven experience managing P&L cash flow treasury operations and international trade finance instruments.

• Exposure to Southern African or emerging market financial environments is an advantage.

• Strong understanding of IFRS and statutory reporting standards.

• Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance frameworks.

• Advanced skills in budgeting forecasting and financial modelling.

• Experience with cost accounting particularly for imported goods and distribution.

• Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g. Sage Pastel or similar ERP systems).

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

• High level of integrity accountability and ethical standards.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Ability to perform under pressure in a dynamic business environment.
