Our client in the hospitality and food & beverage industry is seeking a dynamic hands-on Operations & Hospitality Manager to oversee and grow multiple retail and caf operations across more than one site.
This is a start-up phase role suited to an individual who thrives in building operations from the ground up-establishing systems training teams enhancing customer experience and driving operational excellence.
The successful candidate will combine strong operational discipline with creativity in hospitality food and retail environments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations Setup & Systems Development
Design and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all sites
Establish efficient front- and back-of-house workflows
Implement POS systems stock control processes and reporting structures
Ensure compliance with health safety and food handling standards
Develop opening/closing procedures cash controls and daily reporting systems
2. Staff Recruitment Training & Management
Recruit onboard and train staff across sites
Build a strong service culture aligned with brand values
Develop training manuals and continuous staff development plans
Manage staff schedules performance and accountability
Lead from the front particularly during early-stage operations
3. Menu Development & Product Offering
Develop and refine caf menus with a focus on quality consistency and profitability
Curate deli and retail product offerings aligned with target markets
Cost menus and ensure appropriate margins
Introduce seasonal specials and new product lines
Maintain consistency in product quality and presentation
4. Stock Control & Inventory Management
Implement and manage stock control systems
Monitor stock levels wastage and shrinkage
Conduct regular stock takes and reconcile variances
Ensure optimal ordering cycles and stock turnover
5. Supplier & Procurement Management
Identify negotiate and manage supplier relationships
Source high-quality cost-effective products
Develop local supplier networks particularly for fresh produce
Ensure reliable and efficient supply chains
6. Financial & Performance Management
Monitor daily weekly and monthly performance metrics
Track sales costs and profitability
Support budget management and target achievement
Identify opportunities to improve margins and operational efficiency
7. Customer Experience & Brand Development
Deliver a consistent high-quality customer experience
Establish and enforce service standards
Manage customer feedback and drive continuous improvement
Support the development of brand identity and in-store experience
8. Multi-Site Coordination
Ensure alignment and consistency across sites
Travel regularly between sites as required
Adapt systems for each site while maintaining overall standards
Key Skills & Experience
Proven experience in hospitality retail or food & beverage operations
Experience setting up or managing new businesses is highly advantageous
Strong leadership and team development skills
Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
Financial acumen including budgeting and cost control
Experience in stock management and supplier coordination
Hands-on proactive and adaptable approach
