Job Summary
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Depot Manager with sound knowledge of developing distribution channels as well as ability to handle different channels.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Depot Leadership & Functional Supervision
- Serve as the single point of accountability for all depot activities.
- Supervise and coordinate all department heads: Warehouse Supervisor Depot Finance
- Manager Van Sales Supervisors and support staff.
- Conduct daily and weekly team briefings to align on priorities targets and performance metrics.
- Ensure full compliance with all company SOPs related to depot operations warehousing van sales and finance.
2. Sales Growth & Volume Expansion
- Drive volume growth new outlet acquisition and market penetration from the depot.
- Monitor and support field sales reps and van salesmen to meet and exceed their targets.
- Ensure availability of stocks efficient routing and optimal order servicing.
- Work closely with the sales team to develop and execute promotions schemes and depot-level marketing initiatives.
3. Depot Profitability & Expense Management
- Monitor the depots profit and loss (P&L) and take corrective actions to reduce costs and improve profitability.
- Review all depot operational expenses including fuel repairs utilities petty cash and staffing.
- Operate within the approved depot budget and control overspending.
4. Finance Oversight & Ledger Management
- Ensure all customer payments are collected on time and there are no credit exposures.
- Oversee customer and sales rep ledger reconciliations ensure daily ledger closures.
- Approve financial documents including vendor payments depot disbursements and stock adjustments.
- Work in coordination with the Depot Finance Manager to ensure financial integrity and accuracy.
5. Warehousing & Inventory Control
- Ensure warehouse SOPs are followed: proper stacking FIFO/FEFO bin cards cleanliness and safety.
- Monitor stock movement dispatch accuracy and reconcile physical vs system stock regularly.
- Address issues of stock variances damages and pilferage through timely investigations.
- Manage stock variances in liaison with depot warehouse team maintain stock variances below 0.05% of total inventory value
- Any gap or negligence in stock variances if not reported depot finance resource will be liable to pay it to company
6. SOP & Compliance Management
- Ensure full adherence to company SOPs related to warehousing operations van sales and finance controls.
- Conduct regular SOP refresher training sessions for staff.
- Prepare for and support internal audits depot reviews and compliance checks.
7. Reporting & Coordination
- Share daily weekly and monthly performance reports with senior management.
- Coordinate with head office for product availability pricing policy updates and administrative approvals.
- Maintain regular communication with area managers sales team and support functions.
8. Statutory & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure the depot complies with all legal tax labor safety and environmental regulations.
- Oversee timely submission of required documents related to ZIMRA NSSA local council or any other regulatory body.
- Maintain proper records for tax invoices withholding tax certificates and vendor compliance.
- Support internal and external audits and implement corrective actions for any compliance gaps.

Key Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management Business Administration Logistics or a related field
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in FMCG company with sound knowledge of developing distribution channels as well as ability to handle different channels
