This position is Contingent Upon Contract Award.
The Quality Manager oversees the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure regulatory compliance and maintain airworthiness of repaired aircraft and components. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining the Quality Control Manual (QCM) conducting internal audits acting as the main liaison with regulatory authorities such as the FAA managing the quality team and ensuring all work meets the highest standards before returning aircraft to service.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop implement and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) for Flight School Next.
- Create and update the Quality Control Manual (QCM) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct internal audits and inspections to verify adherence to quality standards and procedures.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities including the FAA for quality and compliance matters.
- Manage and lead the quality team to ensure effective oversight of maintenance and repair activities.
- Ensure all aircraft and components meet airworthiness standards before returning to service.
- Develop corrective action plans and continuous improvement initiatives based on audit findings.
Qualifications
- Must possess FAA A&P license with at least 10 years in aviation maintenance with significant time (e.g. 3-5 years minimum) in a Part 145 repair station including inspector roles.
- Certified FAA Inspection Authorization license.
- Bachelors degree in Aviation Maintenance Quality Assurance or related field or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience in quality management within aerospace or defense programs.
- Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and airworthiness standards.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain Quality Control Manuals and QMS processes.
- Excellent leadership communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Background
- Experience with military aviation maintenance programs.
- ASQ certification (CQE CQA) or equivalent quality management credentials.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 standards.
