Overview

The Quality Technician I works with Manufacturing Quality and Quality Engineering to continuously improve quality performance ensuring compliance with quality standards. This role performs a variety of quality control inspections on products materials components and parts at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with quality and reliability standards and to ensure effective inspection and testing procedures are implemented.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine quality inspections of components to be used during development and production.
  • Perform in-process and final quality checks of parts and assemblies.
  • Perform workstation audits.
  • Maintain documentation of all inspections and potential issues.
  • Assist with problem resolution.
  • Suggest process improvements.
  • Developing and maintaining company inspection reports.
  • Inspecting goods or products according to quality and safety standards.
  • Ensuring goods and products comply with company and customers standards as well as Federal and State law.
  • Reporting quality anomalies to the supervisor.
  • Collating test data and drafting quality reports.
  • Identifying possible areas for improvement in quality control processes.
  • Ensuring production is not hindered by quality testing procedures.
  • Other Quality related tasks as assigned.


Qualifications:

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience with operating CMM or similar automated equipment. Programming experience is highly preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand optical & mechanical drawings
  • Knowledge of GD&T
  • Experience with AS9102 FAI reports and requirements
  • Experience with the use of Calipers Micrometers Drop Indicators and good measurement practices.
  • Experience with use of Microsoft Suite products
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Work overtime as required
  • Thorough application of the seriousness of accurate honest Quality Records.
  • Thorough knowledge of all inspection equipment appropriates to the specific position.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100.
  • Neat and concise writing.
  • Ability to use a computer for data collection and reporting
  • U.S. Citizenship or permanent residence required.


Education/ Experience

  • Associate Degree preferred technical plus 3-5 years related experience or High School Diploma with 10 years related experience. Knowledge of advanced shop math.
