Job Summary
As Duty Engineer you will support daily engineering operations during pre-opening and live operations ensuring all building systems remain safe reliable and guest-ready. You will execute preventive and corrective maintenance respond promptly to guest requests and emergencies and support commissioning and handover activities in line with Minor Hotels standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily preventive maintenance and corrective work orders; ensure accurate logging and shift handovers.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests breakdowns and engineering emergencies.
- Inspect test and maintain HVAC electrical plumbing and fire-life-safety systems to required standards.
- Support commissioning snag rectification and equipment handover during pre-opening.
- Coordinate access with Rooms Housekeeping F&B and Events to ensure safe and discreet maintenance activities.
- Monitor utilities usage during shifts and report abnormalities or efficiency opportunities.
- Maintain tools and spare-parts readiness; raise requisitions in line with internal controls.
- Act as the engineering shift lead ensuring clear escalation and follow-up of unresolved issues.
- Comply with all safety procedures and participate in drills and emergency response activities.
- Contribute to a culture of teamwork learning and continuous improvement.
Qualifications :
- Diploma or certification in Electrical Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a hotel engineering or facilities maintenance role.
- Working knowledge of HVAC electrical plumbing and fire-life-safety systems.
- Comfortable with shift work night duties and weekend operations.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Willingness to be developed into senior engineering roles within the hotels talent pipeline.
- Fluency in Lao required; English is an advantage.
