Our client is seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of a Residential Childrens Home in Hays. You will help lead the team maintain a safe and nurturing environment and ensure the home meets all statutory requirements under the Childrens Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards.
You will contribute to staff supervision rota planning safeguarding practice record-keeping and daily operational the Registered Managers absence you will step into full management responsibilities ensuring the home remains compliant child-centred and effectively staffed. The role requires flexibility leadership presence and a commitment to delivering high-quality care for children with complex needs.
Requirements
Essential Experience & Compliance
Experience specifically within a residential childrens home.
Strong understanding of Ofsted expectations and safeguarding procedures.
Ability to work beyond standard regulated hours including on-call duties.
Enhanced DBS (Update Service preferred) or willingness to complete one.
No immigration restrictions unrestricted working hours required.
Ability to commute reliably to Hays or live within a reasonable distance.
Qualifications
Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England) must already hold be working towards or be willing to complete (mandatory).
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) desirable or willingness to work towards.
Additional Requirements
Completion of a pre-assessment before interview.
Strong leadership communication and decision-making skills.
Ability to uphold professional boundaries and maintain high standards of practice.

Essential: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent). Minimum 2 years experience as a Registered Manager in an Ofsted-registered childrens home (EBD or similar). Proven track record of achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings. Strong understanding of Childrens Homes Regulations and Quality Standards (2015). Robust safeguarding knowledge and ability to implement effective systems and processes. Excellent communication leadership and organisational skills. Desirable: Experience supporting children with EBD trauma or attachment difficulties.
