Job Summary

Our client in the agricultural sector is seeking a Production Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all operations within the production workshop to ensure that manufacturing targets are achieved in line with company standards. This role involves managing production schedules personnel equipment materials and quality control processes to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products to Stores and Projects.

Main Responsibilities:

Develop and manage the production schedule to ensure timely completion of all products.
Coordinate with Stores and Project Managers to align priorities with project deadlines.
Communicate proactively on potential delays and propose revised timelines.
Manage urgent production requests while balancing overall targets.
Structure the production team with clear roles and responsibilities.
Allocate daily tasks and monitor performance efficiency and quality.
Conduct regular quality checks to ensure all products meet required specifications.
Promote teamwork accountability and professionalism within the workshop.
Implement and maintain a tool and equipment maintenance schedule.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure all machinery is in safe working condition.
Plan and budget for necessary equipment replacements or upgrades.
Design and implement ongoing training programs for production team members.
Identify and address skills gaps through internal or external training.
Encourage continuous improvement and technical skill development.
Maintain adequate stock levels of raw materials and consumables.
Manage off-cuts and scrap material to minimize waste.
Collaborate with Stores to forecast and plan production material requirements.
Maintain a clean safe and organized production environment.
Enforce safety procedures for all production staff and visitors.
Promote adherence to company safety policies and standards.
Work closely with Stores Projects and the Head of Operations to improve systems and SOPs.
Implement and manage production tracking through .
Prepare and submit monthly reports on production rates output summaries and key issues.

Sound understanding of fabrication manufacturing and quality control processes.

Qualifications:

Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering Production Management or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years experience in a production or manufacturing management role.
Experience within the agricultural irrigation or engineering sector is an advantage.
Proven track record in managing teams within a workshop or manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles preferred.
Proficient in MS Office Suite and digital production tools.
