Job Description
Thompson Rivers University Physical Sciences Department(Physics)offers a Physics Major as well asseveral courses supporting other programs such as EngineeringArchitecturalDesign and Respiratory located inKamloops BC at the confluence of the North and South Thompson Rivers.
The successful candidate will deliverfirst yearEngineeringphysics delivery is inpersonand the candidate must be available for labs during the daytime as well as evening sections. Underthe successful candidates supervision students work through lab exercises andsubmitelectronic dutiesinclude grading the workbooks and posting grades on course management with lecturers to complete engineering accreditationdata entry is alsorequired.
Labs run from September through early candidates will also be expected toprovide assistance tothe department in December repairing equipmentoutreachupdating lab manuals and general hours outside of the lab teaching duties will not exceed the weekly hours associated with laboratorywork andare flexible.
It is expected the candidate will also provide office hours throughout the term.
The workload is subject enrollment and budgetary constraints.
Requirements
Thompson Rivers University (TRU) is looking for a passionate educator to deliver a range of physicslabsthrough the Fall offers physics courses integral to the PhysicsDegree aswell as service courses to a diverse number of should have proven teaching experience and be able to deliver student-centered engaging lectures as well as been comfortable in working with students through laboratory exercises.
