Job Description
Position Responsibilities:
Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry isseeking applicants for a part-time adjunct faculty position in the Departmentof Periodontics. This faculty positionwill include teaching responsibilities in the postdoctoral periodontal clinicand completion of training activities related to faculty calibration anduniversity seek candidates who are committed to excellence in education and collaborative engagement in a dynamic academic environment.
Typical Duties:
Adjunct faculty members are expected to teach in an integratedcurriculum across traditional departmental lines and in multidisciplinarylearning that is informed by interdisciplinary and translational researchteaching scholarship and creative expression.
The adjunct faculty member will be expected to work one day per month during the summer fall and spring semesters.
Three recent letters of reference or contact information for at least three references will be required for consideration.
Required Qualifications:
- MD degree
- Diplomateof the American Board of Anesthesiology
- Eligible for medical licensure in Virginia
- Experience in teaching clinical and didactic anesthesiologyas a trainee or faculty member
- Demonstrated desire to mentor future dental/periodontalproviders which may include research advising
- Demonstrated ability to teach anesthesiology
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering anenvironment of respect professionalism and civility with a population offaculty staff and students from various backgrounds and experiences or acommitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
