Job Description

Deliverables

The service provider will be expected to deliver the following outputs:

  1. Translated Documents of about 80 pages of each of the 2 local languages (Lusoga and Rukiga): High-quality accurate translations of the financial literacy content of 80 pages in English to be availed by SNV.
  2. Proofread and Quality-Checked Documents: Final translated document thoroughly proofread and validated for accuracy completeness and technical precision.

Submission of an assignment completion report outlining services performed challenges encountered and applicable recommendations.


Qualifications :

Expected Qualifications and Experience

The ideal service provider must demonstrate the following:

  1.   Language Proficiency:  Proficiency in English and the two local languages viz Lusoga and Rukiga.
  2. Experience: Proven experience providing translation services preferably internation organisations. Demonstrated experience in translating technical financial services content is highly desirable.
  3. Resources and Capacity: Evidence of a well-trained and professional team and proven use of appropriate tools and technology to ensure consistency and accuracy of translations.
  4. Accreditations and References: Accreditation with recognized professional translation bodies is desirable.
  5. Submission of at least two references for similar assignment contracts with organizations.

Timeline and Duration of the Assignment

The assignment will commence upon the signing of the service agreement and will continue for a period of one and half (1.5) calendar months.

Proposal Submission Requirements

Interested service providers are required to submit a comprehensive proposal that includes the following components:

  1. Legal and administrative documents: trading license tax clearance certificate of incorporation memorandum & articles of association if applicable.
  2. Company Profile: Organizational history expertise and experience in providing translation services.
  3. Approach and Methodology: Description of how the provider will meet the objectives outlined in this ToR including quality assurance measures.
  4. Technical Proposal: Demonstration of sector-specific knowledge particularly related to translation services.  A proposed activities schedule/work plan with a time frame.
  5. Financial Proposal: A clear itemized and cost breakdown including fees per page (or word)   of times new roman font font size 12 with 1.5 spacing for translation services.
  6. References: Details of at least two previous assignments of a similar nature with contact details for verification. One recent example of a similar translated text in one of the stipulated local languages in 7(a) will be an added advantage.
  7. Team Composition and Resources: Information on the qualifications of translators proofreaders and other relevant personnel and the tools/technology to be utilized. The team should be comprised of native speakers who possess deep understanding of the nuances cultural context and idiomatic expressions of Lusoga and Rukiga.
