Are you looking to start a career with the City of St. PaulOur Public Works Sewer Utility Division is seeking individuals to join our team. As a Sewer Services Worker you will have the opportunity to perform a variety of tasks to help maintain our citys sanitary and storm sewers. We offer competitive wages and a greatbenefits package. Do you want to work as a temporary Sewer Services Worker while obtaining a Class A CDL Successful temporary sewer services worker candidates with a Class B CDL are eligible to participate in a free Class A CDL training program. Training will be held at the Sewers Utility using Sewer related trucks and trailers. The CDL training program is a $5500 value.General Duties: Performs manual labor in constructing locating inspecting maintaining repairing and cleaning of sewer infrastructure. Drives vehicles operates and maintains general construction and specialized equipment. Adheres to all safety rules regulations policies protocols procedures and work rules while completing assigned tasks. Exhibits a commitment to public service by responding to afterhours calls overtime and emergency work such as sewer backups flooding and snow emergencies. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Primary Responsibilities:Must possess and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with no restrictions for airbrakes. The CDL must have no suspensions or revocations for drivingrelated offenses during the twoyear period prior to the date of appointment. Suspensions for parkingrelated offenses are excluded.
Assessment: Qualifications Rating
The Qualifications Rating is an assessment of your completed application and answers to Supplemental Questionnaire. Be as specific and detailed as possible in completing your application and questionnaire. You must submit your completed application and supplemental questionnaire by the application deadline.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Open Job Posting: This position is open to anyone who meets the position requirements.
Eligible Lists: Eligible lists typically are created from a pass/fail assessment. Those who pass the assessment will be placed on the eligible list for approximately six months. Hiring Managers may interview/hire anyone from the list.
Final Selection Process:You must receive a score of 75 or higher to pass the assessment and be considered for the position. Those who pass will be placed on an eligible list and all will be notified of their status. A Hiring Manager will consider those applicants eligible for hire. You will be notified if you are invited to participate in the final selection process which may include an interview job simulation work sample submission or other evaluation method.
Condition of Employment:This position will require a medical examination drivers license check drug test and a background check which may include criminal history and employment history as a condition of employment.
