AWS Sr Platform Engineer

Role: SrPlatform Engineer AWS

Location:Paramus NJ Hybrid

Duration: 6 months

PRIMARY DUTIES /RESPONSIBILITIES

Support andmaintain existing AWSbased applications running on Windows and Linux servers

Collaborate with CCoE and developmentteams to understand the infrastructure requirements of the team and ensure itis aligned with architectural principles and best practices around systemconfiguration performance tuning and security.

Designimplement and optimize cloud infrastructure using AWS services

Act as aliaison between business teams and the CCoE ensuring clear communication ofcloud strategies policies and best practices.

Develop andmaintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions for automated provisioning andconfiguration management.

Implement high availability backupstrategies and disaster recovery for supported applications ensuring businesscontinuity and data protection to align with enterprise RPOs & RTOs.

Implementand maintain CI/CD pipelines that adhere to CCoE guidelines automatingapplication deployment processes to improve efficiency and reduce errors.

Monitor andoptimize the teams infrastructure components identifying and resolvingbottlenecks and implementing performance tuning measures.

Collaboratewith Cloud FinOps to optimize application costs in the cloud and provideinsights on application usage patterns to inform costsaving strategies.

Collaborate with the security team to ensure theimplementation of appropriate security controls and compliance withorganizational policies and industry standards.

Provide technical support and troubleshootingfor complex infrastructurerelated issues working closely with the developmentteam and vendors as needed.

Work with CCoE to implement robust disasterrecovery plans for applications and ensure business continuity strategies alignwith both business needs and CCoE guidelines.

Stay uptodate with the latest infrastructuretechnologies and industry best practices and evaluate their potential impacton existing and future solutions.

Education /Experience / Background

• Minimum Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field and equivalent experience.
  
• Minimum 6 years of designing implementing and maintaining the infrastructure services or similar role.
  

Knowledge / Skills /Abilities

Technical Skills:

Strongknowledge of AWS services including EC2 RDS VPC IAM S3 and CloudFormation

Proficiencyin Windows Server administration and Linux system administration

Experiencewith SQL Server and Amazon RDS for SQL Server

Expertisein scripting languages such as PowerShell Python or Bash for automation andtesting

Familiaritywith Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation

Experiencewith configuration management tools such as Ansible Chef or Puppet

Knowledgeof containerization technologies (Docker Kubernetes) and serverlessarchitectures

Proficiencywith networking concepts and experience with AWS networking services

Familiaritywith monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch ELK stack or Prometheus

Experiencewith CI/CD tools and methodologies (e.g. Jenkins GitLab CI or AWSCodePipeline)
