CrewSELECT is currently seeking experienced Fabricatorsto join a busy workshop in Rocklea. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with strong structural steel fabrication and welding experience looking for ongoing stable workshop work.

About the Role

Working within a busy engineeringworkshop you will be responsible for fabricating and welding structural steel and metal components while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Fabrication and welding of structural steel and metal components
Applying welding techniques to company standards
Reading and interpreting shop drawings and welding symbols
Setting up welding components in flat vertical and overhead positions
Operating fabrication equipment including welding machines gas torches shears presses and drills
Operating manual workshop equipment and reporting any defects
Completing quality inspections on fabricated and welded components
Maintaining accurate quality and production documentation
Conducting repairs modifications and maintenance on existing metal structures and products
Identifying issues with tools or machinery and liaising with supervisors
Maintaining fabrication tools equipment and workspaces in clean and safe working condition
Following all safety procedures and wearing appropriate PPE at all times
Assisting with safety initiatives and ensuring compliance with company safety policies
Communicating effectively with supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and operations

Skills & Experience

Proven experience in welding processes and steel fabrication duties
Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and welding symbols
Second Class Welder experience highly regarded
Ability to pass a weld test
Relevant welding training certificates or transcripts
Strong understanding of workshop safety procedures
High attention to detail and quality workmanship
Reliable work ethic and ability to work within a team environment
