Job Overview
We are seeking experienced and skilled MIG/TIG Structural Welders to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in both MIG and TIG welding techniques with expertise in structural welding and piping. Qualifications
- 2-10 years of professional welding experience
- Proficiency in MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding
- Proficiency in TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding
- Experience with structural welding and piping
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification preferred
- Valid welding certification(s) from recognized institutions
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Physical stamina to work in various positions for extended periods
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials and equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Commitment to safety protocols and procedures
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality MIG and TIG welding on various materials including steel aluminum and stainless steel
- Fabricate and assemble structural components according to blueprints and specifications
- Weld pipes and fittings for industrial applications ensuring proper alignment and leak-free connections
- Set up and operate welding equipment including power sources wire feeders and gas cylinders
- Prepare materials for welding by cleaning grinding and beveling edges as necessary
- Inspect completed welds for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards
- Perform necessary repairs or modifications to existing structures and components
- Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to all safety regulations
- Collaborate with other team members including fabricators fitters and engineers
- Participate in project planning and provide input on welding processes and techniques
- Maintain accurate records of work completed materials used and time spent on projects
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in welding technology
- Mentor and train junior welders as needed
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of welding equipment
Work Environment
The work environment for this position may vary depending on the project and location. Welders can expect to work in both indoor and outdoor settings which may include:
