Job Summary
Job Description:
Hands-on experience MIG welding structural steel in a manufacturing or shop environment. Comfortable reading drawings/blueprints fitting and welding steel components. Reliable and willing to work extended hours and overtime. OSHA awareness and proper PPE usage required.
Essential Job Duties:

Select measure cut and join metals to specifications.

Prepare metals and work surfaces for safe and effective welding Weld in flat horizontal vertical and overhead positions.

Inspect completed welds for strength and appearance.

Read and interpret blueprints and specifications accurately.
-
Follow verbal and written instructions.
-
Train and mentor welding recruits as needed.
-
Clean inspect and maintain welding equipment and tools.
-
Diagnose issues and troubleshoots as required.

Read a tape measure and use basic hand tools (squares hammer chisel banding equipment etc.).

Load parts into jigs.
-
Operate forklifts and shop machinery to transport materials.
-
Follow all welding safety guidelines and regulations.

Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure.
-
Experience with MIG welding layout fit-up and blueprint reading.

Ability to produce quality welds without cold lap or undercuts.

Ability to operate forklifts welders air tools grinders overhead cranes/jibs oxy-acetylene torch etc.

Punctual dependable and able to work scheduled hours.
-
Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Effective professional communication with coworkers.
Preferred: Welding certification
