Business Development Manager

Job Summary
The incumbent will be responsible for developing new business opportunities with a focus on Air & Ocean freight with the objective of driving revenue growth and improving overall company profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify pursue and secure new business opportunities within the General Freight (Air & Ocean) segment.
- Proactively source and develop a strong pipeline of potential customers aligned with the companys growth objectives.
- Follow up on leads and convert prospects into long-term clients.
- Monitor market trends competitor activities and industry dynamics to uncover new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to enhance retention and generate repeat business.
- Participate in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) initiatives to strengthen engagement with both new and existing clients.
- Collaborate closely with Commercial and Operations teams to ensure service excellence and customer satisfaction.
- Achieve assigned sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Requirements
- Minimum 34 years of experience in business development or sales within the logistics or freight forwarding industry.
- Strong commercial acumen with a results-driven mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to deliver impactful presentations.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Self-motivated driven and able to work independently to achieve targets.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Prior experience in logistics and freight forwarding (Air & Ocean) is required.
