Job Summary

Lead and manage all aspects of mining operations across Central Africa including exploration feasibility studies project development and production optimization.
Develop and execute strategic plans to maximize resource recovery reduce operational costs and improve efficiency across sites.
Ensure full compliance with local regional and international mining regulations safety standards and environmental requirements.
Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies local communities indigenous groups and other key stakeholders to foster trust and support.
Oversee budgeting financial forecasting and capital expenditure planning for mining projects within the region.
Drive ESG initiatives ensuring responsible mining practices community development programs and environmental protection are integrated into daily operations.
Lead and mentor a high-performing regional leadership team promoting a culture of safety innovation and accountability.
Represent the company in industry forums government consultations and public engagements related to mining activities in Central Africa.
Monitor geopolitical risks and market dynamics providing strategic insights to senior leadership to adapt operations accordingly.
Implement digital transformation and advanced technologies (e.g. automation data analytics remote monitoring) to enhance productivity and decision-making.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Mining Engineering Geology Mineral Resources or a related field; Masters degree or MBA is highly preferred.
25 years of progressive leadership experience in mining operations with at least 3 years in a senior management or executive role.
Proven experience managing large-scale mining projects in Sub-Saharan Africa with in-depth knowledge of the Central African regulatory and operational landscape.
Strong understanding of ESG principles sustainability reporting and community engagement frameworks.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams across multiple sites and time zones.
Expertise in mining project lifecycle management including feasibility permitting construction commissioning and closure.
Excellent financial acumen with experience in budgeting cost control and ROI analysis for mining ventures.
Proficient in digital mining technologies including GIS remote sensing mine planning software and real-time operational analytics.
Exceptional communication negotiation and stakeholder management skills with fluency in English and proficiency in French preferred.
Willingness to travel frequently across Central Africa and work in remote challenging environments.
Familiarity with international standards such as ISO 14001 ISO 45001 and IFC Performance Standards.
