Our client a leading player in the renewable energy and Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) space is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Head of Business Development to drive revenue growth strategic partnerships and market expansion across Nigeria and Africa.
The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in positioning the organization as a top provider of sustainable energy solutions delivering innovative power solutions to SMEs corporates estates and public sector clients.
Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy
Drive sales across:
Solar energy solutions
Hybrid energy systems (solar storage backup)
Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) offerings
Consistently meet and exceed revenue and growth targets
Identify and penetrate new markets across:
SMEs
Commercial & industrial sectors
Real estate developers
Government and public sector
Lead market entry strategies into new regions and countries
Build and manage relationships with:
EPC contractors
Energy equipment providers
Financial institutions
Telecom and infrastructure partners
Structure and negotiate high-value commercial agreements
Design and implement subscription-based energy solutions
Develop innovative pricing models including:
Pay-as-you-go
Monthly subscription
Lease-to-own
Build and manage a strong sales pipeline
Lead negotiations and close high-value deals
Oversee proposals costing and contract structuring
Develop strategies to attract and retain high-value clients
Drive customer satisfaction and repeat business
Work closely with:
Engineering teams (solution design)
Finance teams (pricing & funding models)
Product teams (energy and fintech integration)
Monitor industry trends competitor activity and regulatory developments
Provide strategic insights to guide business decisions
Revenue growth (monthly and annual)
Number of new clients acquired
Total value of signed contracts

Bachelors Degree in Business Administration Economics Marketing or a related field
Minimum of 15 years in business development or sales leadership
Mandatory experience in the energy sector
Strong preference for renewable energy experience
Proven track record in:
Closing large-scale commercial deals
Leading high-performing teams
Driving sustained revenue growth
Strong negotiation and deal-closing expertise
Deep understanding of energy markets across Nigeria and Africa
Experience with infrastructure or EaaS sales models
Demonstrated ability to lead mentor and inspire teams
Strong strategic thinking and execution skills
Working knowledge of:

A proven deal closer with strong commercial instincts
