About the Opportunity
Our client is currently seeking an experienced Operations Manager to support the launch and operational management of a new biscuit and bakery production facility in Kitwe Zambia. This position is ideal for professionals with hands-on experience managing food production lines and overseeing manufacturing operations within the bakery snack food or FMCG industries.
This role focuses on ensuring efficient day-to-day factory operations coordinating production teams maintaining quality standards and ensuring that production targets are achieved. The Operations Manager will play a key role in preparing the factory for commercial production and ensuring smooth operational performance.
Role Overview
The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the production facility. The role requires close coordination with technical teams production staff maintenance personnel and quality control teams to ensure the factory operates efficiently.
The successful candidate will ensure that production schedules are followed equipment is operating effectively and production staff are properly trained and supervised. The Operations Manager will also monitor production performance identify operational improvements and maintain strong adherence to food safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
The Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing facility and ensure that production processes operate smoothly and efficiently. The role involves supervising production teams coordinating with maintenance teams and ensuring that equipment and machinery are operating safely and effectively.

- Managing daily production operations within the food manufacturing facility
- Coordinating production schedules and ensuring production targets are achieved
- Supervising production teams and supporting workforce training and development
- Ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards
- Monitoring operational performance and improving efficiency where possible
- Supporting equipment installation and commissioning during factory setup
Requirements
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have experience working in food manufacturing environments such as biscuit production bakery manufacturing or snack food processing facilities. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of industrial production processes and experience managing production teams in a factory setting.
Applicants should demonstrate strong leadership skills problem-solving ability and the capability to work in a fast-paced production environment. Experience working with large-scale bakery equipment or automated production lines will be an advantage.
Professionals who are adaptable proactive and comfortable working in a growing manufacturing environment will be well suited for this role.
