Job Title: Claim Payment Coordinator / Child Care Funding Coordinator

Location: Edmonton (Remote must be physically located in Alberta)
Contract Duration: 12 months (with possible extension)
Role Overview
The Government of Alberta is seeking detail-oriented professionals to support the Child Care Claims Unit within the Childcare Grant Funding Team.
This role focuses on processing child care funding claims ensuring payment accuracy resolving discrepancies and supporting licensed child care providers with funding-related inquiries. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative analytical and customer service skills along with experience working in structured policy-driven environments.
Key Responsibilities
Process provincial child care grant funding payments accurately and within timelines
Assess eligibility for Early Childhood Educator (ECE) grant funding
Review validate and approve or deny claims and invoices
Process payment adjustments recoveries credits and debits
Investigate and resolve claim submission and system-related issues
Respond to inquiries related to payments claims and registration
Analyze discrepancies in claims and payments and recommend solutions
Escalate unusual transactions or anomalies as required
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of childcare grant policies and eligibility criteria

Education
Experience (Minimum 1 year in each area)
Customer service issue resolution and basic technical troubleshooting
Microsoft Outlook (email communication calendar and task management)
Basic Microsoft Excel experience in a professional environment
Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications)
Post-secondary education in Office Administration or related field
Experience with Alberta Child Care programs (Licensing Subsidy Funding)
Experience with childcare grant funding processes
