Job Summary
To be eligible youth must:
- be between 15 and 30 years of ageat the beginningof the employment period*
- be a Canadian citizen permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under theImmigration and Refugee Protection Actfor the duration of the employment**and
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
*The youth must be 15 years of age at the beginning of the employment period. The youth may be more than 30 years of age at the end of the employment period as long as the youth was 30 at the beginning of the employment period.
Who we are:
Canadian Mental Health Association Durham is an integrated community mental health and primary care hub that has been providing mental health services to Durham Region for over 60 years.
During that time it has evolved to provide a broad range of services to individuals and their families experiencing mental health challenges from information and education to case management psychosocial rehabilitation housing and primary healthcare. These services are provided through inter-professional teams focused on providing clinically based services that in addition to dealing with client mental health issues address social determinants of health using the recovery model.
OVERVIEW
This position coordinates and manages Special Projects to the Facilities Program (Business Operations) within the Canadian Mental Health Association Durham.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Participates as a member of a high-performance portfolio providing project management support
Provides project support to relevant areas such as: building upgrades repairs and renovations contract management and developing and organizing projects
Works with Program Lead to detail assigned project deliverables
Defines and monitors progress and timelines at all stages
Manages multiple projects including initiating planning executing monitoring and closing the project
Provides support to the Program Lead with collection and entry of data associated with projects
Collaborate with other departments on special projects and solution problem solving if applicable
Prepares formats and edits correspondence presentations reports and spreadsheets pertaining to project/event
Develops tracks and maintains program documentation including plans and progress reports
Identifies potential barriers to success and determines the appropriate resolution
Builds and maintains internal and external stakeholder relationships
Manages and tracks document and contract approval and sign off processes when applicable
Develops and shares progress and program evaluation reports for Senior Leadership
Creates and maintains a positive work environment where all employees can maximize their job satisfaction and productivity
Performs other tasks as assigned
SKILLS
Currently attending post-secondary education
Strong project management and multi-tasking skills to meet expected timelines
Ability to adapt quickly to change and deal with sudden urgent issues
Strong ability to work independently and pro-actively with minimal direction
Ability to manage multiple projects for various stakeholders
Proactive thinker with demonstrated ability to apply sound judgement
Ability to anticipate needs and prioritize competing priorities efficiently
Strong communication (written and verbal) organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds
Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word Excel Access PowerPoint and Outlook)
