Our client is looking for a Technical Support & Development Assistant to join their team.
This is a structured developmental role designed to strengthen technical and compliance support within the blueberry programme while building the successful candidates agronomic competence through supervised learning and progressive responsibility

Key Duties:
Year 1 Support Coordination & Data Integrity
- Collect maintain and monitor grower compliance documentation including certification validity and renewal timelines.
- Monitor MRL microbial water and food safety testing results.
- Review weekly spray records and flag non-compliance.
- Upload compliant data to required platforms (including Driscolls and related systems).
- Collect and collate weekly harvest data; sense-check and flag anomalies.
- Maintain historical yield data and align forecasts with actual sales.
- Monitor quality metrics (Brix firmness fruit weight) and register shelf-life samples.
- Monitor sea freight conditions and temperature compliance prior to dispatch
- Compile quality summaries from market QC reports.
- Coordinate routine grower communication reminders and data follow-ups.
- Participate in grower meetings and farm visits alongside senior staff.
- Support irrigation nutrition pest & disease and cultural practice monitoring through data collection and reporting.
- No independent agronomic recommendations in Year 1.
Year 2 Increased Ownership (Subject to Performance)
- Manage compliance and routine data requirements for an allocated grower subset.
- Take greater ownership of forecasting processes and propose adjustments for review.
- Independently manage quality data capture and reporting.
- Identify recurring quality trends and escalate concerns.
- Provide observational feedback within defined agronomic boundaries.
- Continue structured technical development under senior supervision.
Key Skills:
- Strong administrative and coordination capability
- High attention to detail and data accuracy
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret and sense-check data
- Competence in Excel and data management systems (ERP exposure advantageous)
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work methodically within structured processes
- Willingness to learn and grow in technical agronomy
Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in Agronomy Horticulture Crop Science Agriculture or related field.
- Relevant experience in horticulture or fresh produce (graduate-level candidates encouraged).
- Basic understanding of export compliance and food safety standards advantageous.
