Job Summary

To support the Boat Captain in the safe efficient and compliant operation of company vessels ensuring the secure transportation of personnel equipment and materials. The role provides operational assistance in navigation vessel maintenance safety compliance and emergency response.

  • Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
    • Assisting steering maneuvering and controlling the vessel under the guidance of the Boat Captain.
    • Monitoring navigation instruments and communicate hazards or changes in operating conditions.
    •  Assisting with minor repairs lubrication and maintenance of onboard equipment.
    • Reporting mechanical faults to the Boat Captain for escalation
    • Assisting in loading and offloading cargo ensuring proper weight distribution and securing of items.
    • Maintaining accurate records of passengers materials and equipment transported.
    • Maintaining clear communication with the Boat Captain and shore-based operations.
    • Assisting on compliance with maritime laws navigation rules and company policies
    • Execute docking undocking anchoring and mooring procedures.
    • Ensure availability and proper use of safety equipment (lifejackets flares radios fire extinguishers etc.). 
    • Assisting in maintaining accurate logs of voyages fuel usage incidents and maintenance activities.
    • Maintain readiness for emergency situations such as man-overboard fire collision or medical
    • Assisting the Boat captain to Conduct Vessel Maintenance & Inspections

Qualifications :

  • Basic Marine Operations Certificate or equivalent.
  • Valid Boating License (Class to match vessel type).
  • Valid medical fitness certificate.
  • Lean class 4 drivers licence
  • Valid First Aid Certificate.

At least 12 years experience in marine or water-based operations
