DescriptionRole Purpose
Receiving and checking all incoming (direct charge stock and non stock) goods from Suppliers.
Key Objectives / Accountabilities:
- To receive and check all incoming goods from suppliers.
- To ensure validity of all delivery notes and ensure that it has a valid SAPREF order number.
- To compare the received items against the purchase order details for correctness of quantities size description details part numbers etc.
- To advise commodity leads of any queries on order where goods cannot be receipted in the system of oversupplies and undersupplies
- To ensure that goods are safely unpacked and placed on the receiving section of the conveyor.
- To mark order numbers receipt dates mescodes and rack locators on all incoming good to ensure correct storage.
- First line checks to ensure incoming materials are not damaged. This is a non technical check.
- Assist in originating / approving gate passes for goods leaving SAPREF premises such as Laundry Scrap metals Goods to Island View etc.
- Work closely with the goods materials inspector for the inspecting and binning of goods.
- To ensure that there is no unauthorized removal of goods from the conveyor.
- To separate goods destined for Service Stores and to coordinate the daily delivery of stock items to Service Stores for binning and processing.
- To ensure the safe storage of Direct Charge goods and coordinate the daily delivery of it.
- To be responsible for the general cleanliness and tidiness of the receiving area.
- To ensure that all goods received are receipted within 24 hours of being received.
- To ensure that all Warehouse tools equipment and machinery are in a safe working condition before being used.
RequirementsMinimum Qualifications Years of Work Experience:
- Have Matric AND / OR have a tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management / Warehouse/Logistics/Procurement or Engineering qualification OR have 5-8 years warehouse experience of which at least 3 years in a Petro Chemical environment.
- Have an excellent understanding of HSE issues and commitment to HSE excellence.
- Have a working knowledge of Warehouse and Inventory management.
- Have a working knowledge of Warehouse operating systems and procedures.
- Ability to identify and separate Electrical Instrument and Mechanical items just by looking at it.
- Have computer literacy in MS Office and a Financial System such as Oracle SAP etc.
- Have a good command of English and ability to write reports.
- Have an extensive knowledge of rack locations and the binning of goods to specific rack locations.
- A skilled and experienced forklift operator will be an added advantage.
- Have a valid light motor vehicle driver license. A code 10 truck license will be an added advantage.
