About the Role:
We are seeking a results-driven Civil Litigation Attorney Real Estate & Insurance Defense to join our established litigation practice in North Hollywood. This role focuses primarily on real estate litigation and insurance defense with a strong emphasis on habitability claims and landlord/tenant disputes.
You will manage cases from inception through resolution working closely with property owners landlords property management companies and insurance carriers. This position offers meaningful responsibility strategic involvement in case development and significant courtroom exposure.

Key Responsibilities:
- Defend landlords property owners and insurance carriers in real estate and habitability litigation matters
- Manage insurance defense cases from assignment through trial or settlement
- Draft and argue substantive law and motion including demurrers motions to strike discovery motions and motions for summary judgment
- Handle all phases of litigation including pleadings written discovery depositions expert coordination and trial preparation
- Conduct depositions of plaintiffs experts and fact witnesses
- Prepare detailed status reports and evaluations for insurance carriers
- Attend mediations settlement conferences and negotiate resolutions
- Appear in court for hearings case management conferences and trials
- Ensure compliance with California civil procedure and local court rules
- Maintain strong client communication and reporting standards
Qualifications:
- Active member in good standing with the California State Bar (Required)
- 3 8 years of civil litigation experience
- Strong experience in real estate litigation and insurance defense
- Habitability defense experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with landlord/tenant statutes and related claims
- Strong knowledge of California civil procedure
- Experience handling depositions and court appearances
- Excellent research drafting and analytical skills
- Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload
- Strong client communication and organizational skills
