About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Litigation Associate (3 5 years) to join our expanding insurance defense practice serving clients throughout Connecticut and ideally Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

This role is designed for an attorney who can independently manage files while contributing to a collaborative litigation team. You will handle matters from initial evaluation through resolution or trial working directly with insurance carriers and insured clients on complex civil litigation cases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of litigation from case inception through trial preparation and resolution
• Conduct case analysis and develop strategic defense plans
• Draft pleadings dispositive motions discovery requests and responses and legal memoranda
• Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses experts and corporate representatives
• Appear in court for hearings conferences and motion arguments
• Prepare detailed status reports and evaluations for insurance carriers
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop effective litigation strategies
• Maintain proactive and responsive client communication
• Stay current on relevant case law statutes and insurance defense developments

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• Admission to the Connecticut Bar (Required)
• Admission to the Massachusetts and/or Rhode Island Bar strongly preferred
• 3 5 years of civil litigation experience with a focus on insurance defense
• Strong legal research writing and analytical skills
• Deposition and motion practice experience
• Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal and client communication skills
