- Conduct site surveys feasibility studies and geotechnical assessments to support project planning and design.
- Prepare detailed construction drawings technical specifications and engineering calculations using CAD and BIM software.
- Oversee construction activities on-site to ensure adherence to design standards safety protocols and project schedules.
- Coordinate with architects contractors surveyors and local authorities to resolve technical challenges and ensure seamless project delivery.
- Monitor material quality workmanship and compliance with national and international engineering standards (e.g. SANS ISO and Zimbabwean Standards).
- Prepare progress reports cost estimates and change order documentation for project stakeholders.
- Manage project documentation including as-built drawings inspection records and compliance certificates.
- Participate in environmental impact assessments and ensure sustainable engineering practices are integrated into project design.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff and site supervisors.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Professional registration with the Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers (ZIE) or eligibility for registration.
- 25 years of progressive experience in civil engineering preferably in infrastructure road or building projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D MS Project and other relevant engineering software.
- Strong understanding of Zimbabwean building codes construction standards and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to travel to project sites across Mutare and surrounding areas.
