- Collaborate with operations engineering and laboratory teams to troubleshoot technical issues in real time.
- Maintain accurate records of metallurgical assays process yields and equipment performance.
- Ensure compliance with health safety and environmental regulations in all metallurgical operations.
- Support pilot plant and laboratory-scale testing to validate new processing methods.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for management and regulatory bodies.
- Stay current with advancements in metallurgical technologies and industry best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff and operational teams.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Metallurgical Engineering Extractive Metallurgy or a closely related field.
- 25 years of hands-on experience in metallurgical operations preferably in mining or mineral processing environments.
- Proven experience in process optimization assay analysis and recovery testing.
- Proficiency in using laboratory equipment (e.g. XRF ICP flotation cells) and process simulation software.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Knowledge of Zimbabwean mining regulations and environmental standards.
- Willingness to work in a field-based environment in Mutare with occasional travel to remote sites.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
