Job Summary

Conduct metallurgical testing and analysis to evaluate ore characteristics and optimize processing parameters.
Develop and implement process flowsheets for mineral recovery including flotation leaching and concentration techniques.
Monitor and analyze process performance data to identify inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
Collaborate with operations engineering and laboratory teams to troubleshoot technical issues in real time.
Maintain accurate records of metallurgical assays process yields and equipment performance.
Ensure compliance with health safety and environmental regulations in all metallurgical operations.
Support pilot plant and laboratory-scale testing to validate new processing methods.
Prepare technical reports and presentations for management and regulatory bodies.
Stay current with advancements in metallurgical technologies and industry best practices.
Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff and operational teams.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Metallurgical Engineering Extractive Metallurgy or a closely related field.
25 years of hands-on experience in metallurgical operations preferably in mining or mineral processing environments.
Proven experience in process optimization assay analysis and recovery testing.
Proficiency in using laboratory equipment (e.g. XRF ICP flotation cells) and process simulation software.
Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Knowledge of Zimbabwean mining regulations and environmental standards.
Willingness to work in a field-based environment in Mutare with occasional travel to remote sites.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
