Job Summary

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including medical history reviews physical examinations and monitoring of vital signs.
  • Develop implement and evaluate individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with physicians and healthcare teams.
  • Administer medications treatments and therapies in accordance with clinical protocols and safety standards.
  • Monitor and document patient progress adjusting care plans as needed and reporting changes to supervising clinicians.
  • Provide patient and family education on disease management preventive care medication adherence and healthy lifestyle practices.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control policies patient safety standards and national healthcare regulations.
  • Collaborate with community health workers and local organizations to support outreach programs and public health initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential electronic health records (EHR) and documentation in line with institutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in staff training quality improvement projects and professional development activities.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and assist in crisis management during critical patient events.


Requirements


  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Valid registration and license to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing Council of Zimbabwe.
  • 25 years of clinical experience in a hospital clinic or community health setting.
  • Proven experience in patient assessment care planning medication administration and documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of infection control patient safety protocols and emergency response procedures.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems and basic computer applications.
  • Commitment to continuous learning ethical practice and adherence to professional standards.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts including evenings weekends and on-call duties as required.
