Year 6 Teacher – Streatham

We are seeking a confident motivated and experienced Year 6 Teacher to join a supportive and high-achieving primary school in Streatham starting as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who thrives in Upper Key Stage 2 and is passionate about preparing pupils for the transition to secondary education.

As the Year 6 Teacher you will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that prepare pupils for SATs and secondary school in a positive encouraging way. You will support pupils academically and emotionally helping them build resilience independence and self-belief.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan deliver and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 6 curriculum

• Prepare pupils for SATs using supportive and effective strategies

• Create a structured positive and inclusive classroom environment

• Use assessment data to track progress and plan targeted interventions

• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils including SEND and EAL

• Promote positive behaviour resilience and independence

• Support pupils emotional wellbeing during a demanding academic year

• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants colleagues and senior leaders

• Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding progress

• Contribute to staff meetings CPD and whole-school initiatives

• Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Have experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2 ideally Year 6

• Demonstrate strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and assessment frameworks

• Be organised confident and calm under pressure

• Have excellent classroom management and communication skills

• Be reflective adaptable and committed to professional development

• Show a strong commitment to inclusion safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
