Job Summary

We are seeking a committed enthusiastic and nurturing Year 2 Teacher to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Twickenham starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who enjoys Key Stage 1 and is passionate about supporting pupils through a crucial transition year into Key Stage 2.

As the Year 2 Teacher you will be responsible for delivering a broad and balanced curriculum while supporting pupils academically socially and emotionally. You will play an important role in preparing pupils for end-of-key-stage assessments in a positive and encouraging way ensuring they feel confident and well-supported.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan deliver and assess engaging lessons across the Year 2 curriculum

  • Support pupils in preparation for KS1 assessments in a calm and structured manner

  • Create a positive inclusive and well-managed classroom environment

  • Use assessment data to monitor progress and plan targeted support

  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils including SEND and EAL

  • Promote positive behaviour independence and a love of learning

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants colleagues and senior leaders

  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress

  • Contribute to staff meetings CPD sessions and whole-school initiatives

  • Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Have experience teaching in Key Stage 1 ideally Year 2

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and assessment frameworks

  • Be nurturing organised and enthusiastic

  • Have strong classroom management and communication skills

  • Be reflective adaptable and committed to professional development

  • Show a strong commitment to inclusion safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
