We are seeking a nurturing enthusiastic and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Dartford starting as soon as possible. This is a wonderful opportunity for a teacher who enjoys Key Stage 1 and is passionate about supporting pupils as they transition from EYFS into more structured learning.

As the Year 1 Teacher you will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that build on pupils early learning experiences while promoting independence confidence and a love of learning. You will create a supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and positive learning behaviours.
Key Responsibilities
Plan deliver and assess engaging lessons across the Year 1 curriculum
Support pupils transitioning from EYFS to Key Stage 1
Create a structured nurturing and inclusive classroom environment
Use assessment to monitor progress and inform planning
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils including SEND and EAL
Promote positive behaviour routines and independence
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and colleagues
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress
Contribute to staff meetings CPD and whole-school initiatives
Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching in Key Stage 1 ideally Year 1
Demonstrate strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum
Be nurturing organised and enthusiastic
Have excellent classroom management and communication skills
Be reflective adaptable and committed to professional development
Show a strong commitment to inclusion safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
