Our client is looking for a professional and personable Front Desk Officer / Registration Clerk to be the first point of contact for our clients and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
- Patient reception - welcome patients pleasantly and politely on arrival and assist with relevant information.
- Receives and directs incoming calls to the respective offices
- Advises patients on the costs of requested tests co-payments and shortfall requirements.
- Checks to ensure that the request form and claim form are completed accurately and that all details are included.
- Assist patients with manual claims for reimbursements where applicable
- Receives samples and ensures that the samples are collected in the right tubes and containers and are not leaking in liaison with the Sorting Officer.
- Allocates system generated bar code number from the Laboratory Information System to the patient test request and samples
- Correctly captures all patients and test details on the request form into the Laboratory Information System
- Obtains identification and medical aid information from each patient to ascertain if the correct patient is being served and adequacy of pathology funding cover and member card validity
- Real time claim submission on New Health 263 platform
- Receipts all cash paying patients in line with the set prices and submits all daily cash takings to Accounts at the end of the day or any designated finance staff for checking and filing.
- Provides clients with proforma invoice on request for pre authorizations at their medical aid.
- Safeguards cash receipt books by ensuring that these are kept in a secure place always
- Any other duties assigned by your Supervisor.

Key Qualifications:
- Diploma/Degree in Business Administration or equivalent professional qualification
- Front Office experience in a healthcare or related environment for at least 2 years is a requirement.
- New Health 263 and general laboratory operations experience an added advantage
