Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and analytical Procurement and Logistics Officer to build and manage our clients supply chain from the ground up.
Salary:
Negotiable
Responsibilities
- Identify evaluate select and onboard reliable suppliers for raw materials fabricated components consumables and subcontracting services.
- Develop and maintain a robust supplier database fostering strong relationships with key partners.
- Negotiate contracts prices and terms to achieve the best possible cost quality and delivery conditions directly impacting our markup and contribution margin.
- Implement a supplier performance review system.
- Process and manage purchase requisitions and orders in alignment with production schedules and project timelines.
- Ensure the efficient procurement of materials for our refurbishment pipeline including the strategic sourcing of used equipment from the market for refurbishment and resale.
- Collaborate closely with the workshop technical sales and project managers to understand material requirements for custom one-off and batch jobs.
- Work with the costing team to develop flexible costing models that align with our different business streams.
Key Skills:
- Demonstrable experience in sourcing raw materials for metalworking (steel alloys etc.).
- Strong negotiation analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships internally and externally.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related cirtification such as CIMA.
- Proven experience (3-5 years) as a Procurement Officer Buyer or similar role preferably within a manufacturing fabrication or engineering environment.
