Role Overview

Pennar Industries Limited is seeking a seasoned Plant Head for its Chennai facility. This role will lead ICF coach production operations with a strong blend of technical expertise (60 70%) and managerial leadership (30 40%). Over time the position is expected to evolve into leading the Railways Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Operations (60 70%)

Lead end-to-end ICF coach manufacturing and production planning.
Ensure compliance with ICF / RDSO standards quality norms and safety regulations.
Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to production and quality teams.
Act as a technical interface with clients for execution and engineering challenges.
Drive process improvement productivity enhancement and cost optimization.

Managerial & Leadership (30 40%)

Overall Plant Head responsibility including manpower planning and performance management.
Coordinate with finance and accounts teams for billing and payment follow-ups.
Support business development and new project acquisition.
Collaborate with corporate leadership on budgeting and reviews.
Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance.

Future Responsibility

Transition into leading the Railways Business Unit overseeing strategy execution and growth.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelors degree in Mechanical / Production / Electrical / Industrial Engineering (Masters preferred).
15 years of experience in manufacturing preferably in ICF coach production or rolling stock.
Prior experience as Plant Head / Operations Head / Production Head.
