10-Month Tenure Track Position
COMPENSATION:
Initial salary placement ranges from $67886 to $106308 based upon education and experience. The current faculty salary schedule includes five classes and twenty steps with a maximum annual salary of $142425. A District-paid comprehensive benefit package which includes medical dental and vision insurances for the employee and dependents and a $50000 employee life insurance policy are provided. BASIC FUNCTIONS
The teaching assignment may include (but is not limited to) classes in the following areas: Application and utilization of the nursing process in the care of patients; Adult geriatric pediatric and maternal child nursing Critical care nursing; Acute and chronic care nursing; Mental health and psychiatric illness nursing; Critical care nursing; Ethics in and history of nursing; and Role of nursing in current health care delivery systems.
RESPONSIIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
This assignment includes (but is not limited to) the following:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters in nursing OR Bachelors in nursing AND Masters in health education or health science ORthe equivalent OR the minimum qualifications as set by the Board of Registered Nursing whichever is higher.
Direct patient care experience within the previous five (5) years in assigned nursing area which can be met by:
A. Three (3) years continuous full-time or its equivalent experience providing direct patient care as a registered nurse in the designated nursing area; AND/ORMust have sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic cultural disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:Preference will be given to those candidates who establish the highest level of professional competency in the following:
At least one (1) year of experience teaching courses in an Associate Degree Nursing program within the last five (5) years:
At least one (1) year of experience of Simulation Lab teaching courses in an Associate Degree Nursing program within the last five (5) years.

In addition some specialized courses may require specific certificates (must meet minimum content requirements specified by outside/other agencies based on accreditation).
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Office classroom lab and/or on-line environment. Position requires ability to communicate and exchange information. The assignment may include day weekend and/or evening classes on campus and/or at off campus locations. Position requires ability and schedule flexibility to accommodate active participation in College and Department Outreach Events such as College and Career Fairs and College and Community Presentations.
