Responsibilities
- Provide surgical care for trauma patients in emergency situations
- Assess patient conditions and determine appropriate surgical interventions
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other medical professionals
- Perform surgeries and ensure comprehensive post-operative care
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Participate in on-call duties as required
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in trauma surgery
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery
Requirements
- Medical degree from an accredited institution
- Board certification in Surgery with a focus on Trauma Surgery
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of Massachusetts
- Experience in trauma surgery preferably in an emergency department setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments
- Commitment to patient-centered care
- Availability for on-site work and on-call shifts
- Level I Trauma
Schedule: 7a-4p
Call Requirement: Weekdays (4p-7a) weekends (6a-7a)
Patient Census: 30-50 total per day
Support Staff: APPs residents
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
Paid travel & expenses
