Senior Healthcare Internal Audit Manager

Job Title: Senior Healthcare Internal Audit Manager Risk Compliance & Coding

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Internal Audit Manager to lead risk-based audits compliance reviews and internal control assessments across our organization. This senior role owns the Internal Audit Work Plan ensures compliance with CMS OIG and OMIG regulations and provides actionable insights to executive leadership. Ideal candidates have deep expertise in healthcare auditing coding (CPT & ICD-9/10) compliance regulations and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead mentor and manage internal audit staff; oversee audit teams and workflows.
• Develop execute and report on risk-based internal audits operational audits and regulatory compliance audits.
• Maintain and own the Internal Audit Work Plan including audit scope frequency and sampling.
• Conduct audits of medical records to identify coding discrepancies and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Compliance Officers and business leaders to address audit findings and corrective actions.
• Prepare timely executive-level audit reports for CFO Compliance Officers and leadership.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to CMS guidelines Federal and State regulations and company policies.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement transparency and professional development.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Business Administration Healthcare Administration or related field.
• 57 years of healthcare auditing experience; minimum 10 years in supervisory or leadership roles.
• Expertise in CPT and ICD-9/10 coding CMS guidelines and federal/state compliance regulations.
• Strong project management organizational and leadership skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and audit software.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

• Experience leading internal audit teams of 5 direct reports.
• Familiarity with OIG OMIG and other healthcare regulatory audits.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
