Role Overview
The Principal Experience Designer will drive strategy and delivery within the Customer Experience (CX) Suite. This individual will be responsible for ensuring UX/UI and CX design strategies accelerate the organizations progress toward delivering exceptional customer experiences and measurable business impact. This role serves as a key individual contributor and subject matter expert in applying UX/UI design expertise to digital product development while mentoring junior designers and influencing enterprise stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Shape a digital-forward Experience Design vision and standards aligned to business strategy and industry trends.
- Partner with Senior Director and Director Experience Design to align enterprise stakeholder priorities technical capabilities and process improvements.
- Drive innovation workstreams and experimentation within a product-oriented model.
- Define target users in collaboration with Analytics partners; deeply interpret user research insights.
- Prioritize features and set clear performance objectives balancing business goals with exceptional user experience.
- Own strategic product initiatives including roadmap execution milestones and measurable adoption outcomes.
- Evangelize the value of UX/UI and CX Design to senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Drive stakeholder alignment and resolve conflicts to advance product roadmaps.
- Collaborate with UX/UI Analysts and technical teams to ensure business value and technical feasibility.
- Partner with Product Owners and Executive Director Customer Experience Suite Lead to align roadmaps.
- Support global product collaboration for shared learnings and efficiencies.
- Define business cases and support budget/funding needs.
- Define business requirements related to product usage and system health.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory legal and governance standards.
People Leadership
- Mentor and coach junior Experience Design team members.
- Foster a culture of collaboration innovation and accountability.
- Cultivate high standards of design craft and quality.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in business technology marketing science operations or related field.
- 10 years total experience.
- 7 years in UX Product Design or Experience Design.
- Proven ownership of full product lifecycle (vision roadmap execution impact measurement).
- Strong cross-functional stakeholder alignment skills.
- Experience mentoring designers.
- Excellent communication and executive influence skills.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Experience collaborating with Legal Compliance and Privacy teams.
- Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking ability.
- Ability to operate in ambiguity and evolving environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MBA or related).
- Experience in healthcare pharmaceutical or highly regulated industries.
- Experience managing complex enterprise-scale initiatives.
- Advanced knowledge of workflow tools automation systems and compliance frameworks.
- Experience building and managing design systems.
