Mission Edge is a social enterprise based in Liberty Station San Diego. While we are formally incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization we operate like a mission-driven for-profit business. We believe that to sustain real good impact the social sector must be supported by earned revenue. We are genuine do-gooders with real business savvy determined to make the social sector more sustainable.

Heres the thing: AI is changing everything. And nonprofits Theyre sitting on a goldmine of potential that most organizations havent even begun to tap into. Thats where you come in.

Mission Edge is on a mission (pun absolutely intended) to prove that nonprofits can be just as innovative efficient and cutting-edge as any Silicon Valley startup. We help hundreds of mission-driven organizations across the country become more sustainable by providing accounting HR and fiscal sponsorship services. Weve served 800 nonprofits provided 125000 consulting hours and saved organizations $7 million in operational costs. Now were ready to multiply that impact with AIand we need someone as curious and excited about this as we are.

Your mission should you choose to accept it: Work directly with our COO to bring AI to every corner of our organization. Youll be the person who makes everyones work easier faster and more impactfulwhile helping us change the world.

What Youll Actually Do (The Fun Stuff)

No two days will be the same but heres what your journey might look like:

Be Our AI Explorer

Test every AI tool you can get your hands on (yes reallythis is part of the job)
Figure out which ones are game-changers and which ones are just hype
Build a library of AI solutions that actually work for nonprofits

Create AI Agents & Automations

Design intelligent systems that take repetitive tasks off peoples plates
Automate workflows that currently eat up hours of our teams time
Build chatbots assistants and tools that make our work feel like magic

Train & Inspire

Be the person who makes AI accessible (not scary) for everyone
Lead workshops that get people excited about whats possible
Turn AI skeptics into believers through hands-on demos and real results

Solve Real Problems

Identify pain points across the organization and dream up AI solutions
Experiment fail fast learn faster and iterate until you crack it
Show measurable impact: hours saved money saved lives improved

Shape Our AI Strategy

Work alongside leadership to chart our AI roadmap
Stay ahead of the curve on emerging AI trends and technologies
Help position Mission Edge as a thought leader in nonprofit innovation
