Position summary
Were looking for a self-motivated In-House Employment Legal specialist. This critical position will be primarily responsible for the effective and efficient management of a legal departments resources systems and initiatives. This legal professional will serve as a trusted employment advisor to the Senior Management engaging with a wide array of internal and external constituents as a representative of the Legal Department.
Key duties & responsibilities
- Address employee issues from a legal standpoint including non-performance misconduct health-related concerns behavioral issues grievances and harassment cases (including sexual harassment).
- Oversee end-to-end litigation related to employee disputes disputes involving vendor employees and miscellaneous cases such as disbursal of death benefits amid family disputes third-party claims witness summons and warrants.
- Handle highly sensitive matters involving behavioral threat assessment and management.
- Draft responses to claims complaints and requests from quasi-judicial authorities and third parties concerning company employees.
- Manage matters related to non-compete non-solicitation intellectual property confidentiality and other conflict of interest issues.
- Prepare and review process documents to provide legal guidance to Employee Relations (ER) and Human Resources (HR) teams.
- Collaborate closely with HR teams as well as global HR and Legal teams.
- Conduct legal reviews of company policies and practices.
- Monitor employee litigation and related matters maintain trackers analyze trends using advanced Excel skills assess risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure future preparedness.
- Foster effective relationships and engagement with internal stakeholders international clients and cross-functional teams.
- Provide support in matters related to contracts corporate law corporate governance secretarial activities and legal compliance.
- Manage relationships with external counsel and Vendor Management.
Qualification
- Law Degree from an accredited university
- Experience in a reputed Law Firm / Consultancy Firm or as In-House Legal Support in a company (preferably IT/ITES)
Experience
Skills and Knowledge
- Previous work experience of 3-5 years
- Good knowledge and exposure of policies processes investigation employment matters litigation
- Adept at contract drafting review
- Knowledge of Labour laws and corporate advisory
- Experience of legal work in various jurisdictions is an added advantage.
Key competency profile
- Demonstrated skills on interpretation of laws rules and judicial precedents to keep abreast of developments in the field of labour and employment laws.
- Knowledge of labour & employment laws and compliance.
- Ability to work closely as a team within legal verticals and stakeholders.
- Litigation management and creation of database of ongoing cases. Work closely with external counsels across locations including remote location.
- Demonstrate skills in drafting court documents response to legal notice written statement evidences review of questions for cross examination and written submissions.
