- This is a 5-6 month contract with a local authority aimed at providing high-quality administrative and event management support to the Mayor and Deputy Mayor. The role is crucial in ensuring their engagements correspondence and civic responsibilities are managed efficiently and professionally.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage the team inbox ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Provide diary management for the Mayor and Deputy Mayor including scheduling meetings and engagements.
- Make travel arrangements and manage correspondence promptly and accurately.
- Take minutes at meetings as required.
- Attend weekly meetings with the Mayor and Deputy Mayor to advise and coordinate their attendance at engagements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in providing administrative support in a busy office environment.
- Experience in diary management and event coordination.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Essential Qualifications Required
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel Outlook).
- Event management experience or training (desirable).
Additional Information
- Working hours: 22.5 hours per week
- Location: London Road Basingstoke Hampshire RG21 4AH United Kingdom
- Work pattern: 3 days a week (22.5 hours) Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday. Mondays and Fridays are covered by another temporary member of staff.
- Although some working from home can be accommodated it is expected that the postholder will work mainly in the office.
- Some off-site working may be required.
- Ability to work outside normal office hours occasionally.
The role closes on 9th December 2025 apply ASAP.
