| Information (Include duties and tasks specific to this position) | POSITION TITLE:PRINCIPAL (SUBSTITUTE) REPORTS TO:CHIEF OF SCHOOLS JOB SUMMARY: ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Developing and maintaining an effective educational program consistent with State and Federal guidelines and the philosophy policies and goals of the School Board.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Comprehensive knowledge of the practices methods and techniques used in the administration and supervision of the a school principalship; excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work with and through others; outstanding leadership and personal characteristics. This is light work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally up to 10 pounds of force frequently and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects; work requires standing and walking; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is not subject to adverse environmental conditions. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Postgraduate Professional License with endorsements in administration and supervision preK-12. Can demonstrate knowledge of principles practices materials and equipment used inmodern a public school education setting and an ability to apply them to the needs of the school; knowledge of current curriculum and instructional practices and trends; knowledge of public school organization and administration; ability to plan organize and coordinate comprehensive secondary school instructional programs and co-curricular and extracurricular activities; ability to plan supervise and evaluate the work of instructional and support personnel; ability to develop effective working relationships with students staff community and the general public; and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
