Job Description

As a Business Development Manager you will play a key role in driving growth and supporting the team in a dynamic technology-driven and rapidly evolving environment with changing processes and policies.

Leveraging your deep understanding of our products client needs and the music market combined with a strong customer success strategy you will be responsible for achieving revenue targets and managing a portfolio of artists. This position reports directly to the Senior Business Development Leader.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acquire and Develop New Partnerships: Source attract and sign new partners including artists and labels.
  • Lead Identification and Conversion: Identify high-potential prospects and successfully convert them into clients.
  • Contribute to Sales Strategy: Support the implementation of the local sales strategy in collaboration with the Business Development Leader.
  • Build a Robust Pipeline: Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective artists and labels.
  • Negotiate Deals: Engage in contract negotiations with leads ensuring alignment with:
    • Established business rules
    • Local market complexities
    • Client-specific requirements
  • Adapt to Market Innovations: Stay ahead of service innovations and adapt to increasing deal complexity.
  • Performance Monitoring: Utilize tools and dashboards to track and optimize performance.
  • Client Transition: Ensure smooth handover to the account management team for ongoing client support.

Required Skills & Expertise

Business Skills:

  • Proven expertise in closing deals and achieving sales targets
  • Strong understanding of the music industry ecosystem
  • Proficiency in CRM tools especially Salesforce
  • Familiarity with CLM systems such as iCertis
  • Comprehensive knowledge of company products and offerings

Soft Skills:

  • Results-oriented and highly motivated
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Passionate about music technology and data
  • Persistent and resilient with a proactive approach
  • Demonstrated success in client servicing
  • Deep understanding of the independent artist landscape
  • Established network within the music industry preferably with experience in distribution

  • Bachelors degree in Music Business or a related field is preferred.
